About Empowering Your Strengths

Understand Your Strengths. Transform Your Choices. Live With Greater Purpose.

Your strengths are more than a list of personality traits or the highest scores on an assessment.

They are part of the way you think, communicate, lead, make decisions, build relationships, respond to challenges, and pursue what matters most.

Empowering Your Strengths helps you understand those patterns—and, more importantly, learn how to use your strengths more intentionally in both your personal and professional life.

Our approach is grounded in an interpretive analysis of the Values in Action (VIA) Character Strengths Framework, one of the most extensively researched models in positive psychology. But we go beyond simply identifying your top strengths. We explore what your strengths mean, how they interact, where they may be helping or limiting you, and how you can apply them to the challenges and opportunities in your life.

Work Well. Live Well. Be More Fully You.

Modern life rarely keeps work and home neatly separated. Emails follow us into the evening. Unfinished projects occupy our thoughts. Workplace stress can affect our relationships, while personal responsibilities can influence how we show up at work.

Holistic well-being begins with recognizing that these parts of life are connected. Empowering Your Strengths helps you develop the self-awareness to recognize the patterns influencing your choices—and the intentionality to respond differently. The goal isn't simply to know yourself better. It's to make different choices.

From Strengths Assessment to Meaningful Action

The VIA framework identifies 24 character strengths organized around six virtues: Wisdom · Courage · Humanity · Justice · Temperance · Transcendence

Knowing your signature strengths is an important starting point. But the real opportunity comes from understanding how those strengths operate in your life.

We explore questions such as:
  • How do my strengths influence the way I lead?
  • How do they affect my communication and relationships?
  • Where might I be overusing or underusing a strength?
  • What patterns may be holding me back?
  • How can I bring more of my authentic self to my work?
  • How can I use my strengths to improve my personal relationships?
  • What choices could create greater resilience, purpose, and well-being?
The journey is from assessment to awareness—and from awareness to action.

Empowering Your Strengths is led by social scientist Bob Grigsby, whose character strengths coaching combines the VIA framework with a deeper interpretive process designed to connect strengths with real-life behavior, relationships, leadership, and well-being.

The work has been applied with individuals, executives, leadership teams, entrepreneurs, and organizations seeking authentic growth and sustainable performance.

Rather than applying a generic coaching formula, each engagement is customized around the individual's responsibilities, experiences, challenges, opportunities, and goals. Your strengths profile is unique. Your coaching should be, too.
